Careers

Careers is offered to all pupils from Year Nine up through the school.

It is offered in a variety of ways and is made relevant to the needs of the pupils.

The aims of the Careers department are in keeping with the whole school aims and objectives.

- To provide a learning for life programme.

- To promote attitudes and values that will enable students to function   effectively as adults and responsible citizens.

- To assist students to develop the process of valuing, decision making and reflective thinking.

- To involve all students in acquiring knowledge and skills in the areas of work, leisure and unemployment.

- The acquisition of further skills and knowledge pertinent to particular courses and careers

- To underline the benefits of work experience and work shadowing and provide means where by all students have a chance to participate before leaving school.

- To keep information on the job front updated.

- We have a differentiated programme for some classes.
