Homework is an integral and co-ordinated element in the school's assessment policy. Homework tasks are varied and useful. A pupil may be asked to read, research, explore, investigate, plan a visit, organise himself/herself for class, conduct and interview or a survey. Time is always given for the completion of homework – this will usually be one week at KS3 level and possibly longer at KS4 level. Clear instructions are always given about when to hand the homework in for marking. Homework is marked in accordance with the school policy. If a pupil has not completed homeworks over a period of time extra work or detention may be given. Each pupil has a copy of homework rules. Pupils are aware of reasons for setting homework.
