We  take every opportunity to promote the importance of our subject in pupils’ future careers. GCSE English is asked for by virtually every employer and certainly by every university and college. Post-16  courses  at  the Colleges of Further Education will require a student to “resit” if s/he has not got a C grade; conversely, those with a C grade earn more money, more quickly and avoid “resit” classes. Some ex-pupils ( from 12.voc and “A” level) have visited our current classes and given them their advice, with hindsight.
